Brightest Faith: Question #9
02.14.04 (8:17 am)   [edit]
Would you please post a blog entry explaining how 22,000 + different denominations of Christianity can all say they know the word of God when they all differ on its interpretation?

What organization put the New Testament together?
God asks His faithful not to judge others, but, through His word, asked us to love one another, as we are made in His image. It would not be righteous in God's eyes to hate people and if so, they can't call themselves Christ-following christians. One thing that must be known is that a truthful person of God would leave judgement up to our heavenly Father. I'm not saying that you're judging anyone, but saying that that's important to address in this.
Part of Jesus' ministry was tell let everyone know that Jews and Gentiles alike were created by Him and that He loves them all as His creation.
The Book of Luke Chapter 12, Verse 51, "Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division:"
Verse 52, "For henceforth there shall be five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three."

At the beginning of the Book of John, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." This spoke of Jesus Christ, whom God sent to earth to be His words:
Deuteronomy Chapter 18, Verse 15, "The LORD thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken;"
Then, later on, in Verse 18, "I will raise them up a prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him."

Jesus Christ was not only the Saviour, but the words of the Lord were spoken through Him. And by Him, everyone will be judged.
It isn't up to the followers to interpret His words, but to hearken to them.
Verse 19, "And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him."

His disciples that were there to witness Him and to hear His teachings and His words explained His ministries in the other books of the new testament. God's meaning was expressed through Jesus Christ, His son whom He sent. Christians can't take His meaning and change it into something else by interpretation. It is what it is. If someone tried to change it or add to it, they'll be found a liar. In the days in which we live, there are many liars. And many people that cast deception. God knows that.
The Gospel Acc. to Matthew Chapter 24, Verse 4, "And Jesus said unto them, take heed that no man deceive you."
Verse 5, "For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many."
And if you read with understanding further within those scriptures, you'll find that these are the beginnings of sorrows.

Don't go by what men are telling you, but by what God teaches you in truth. If you know the truth and trust in the Lord, God will be a shield to you (Proverbs Chapter 30, Verse 5) and you will be able to defend against deception.

The new testament wasn't put together by an organization. They were written by certain disciples of Jesus in old days as they were moved by the Holy Spirit. I've read that many people that Jesus influenced or moved did also write down what happened to them and shared them and later the writings were used by the writers to give details so that they could lay out how it all happened. But if you take all the miracles that Jesus did day to day, the books would be much larger than those that are in the testament today.

The epistles were also written under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit.

Later on the Protestants reorganized the bible and took out the books of the apocrypha, which were in the scripture that Jesus studied Himself (the septuagint).
I could be wrong, but how would any of you know unless you asked God for that truth?

The Book of Proverbs Chapter 30, Verses 4 & 5,
"Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.
Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar."

It is important that you read near the end of the Book of the Gospel According to John Chapter 17 if you want to know what Jesus Christ the words of God, the Father, said on this matter, which is more important than anything anyone could muster up.
