The Book of the Gospel According to Matthew Chapters 1 & 2.
The book of Matthew is part of the 4 books considered the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Things to memorize about these chapters: Chapter 1 ~ 25 verses. Talks about Joseph's lineage and his dream that his wife Mary will bear a child of the Holy Spirit and that God named Him. Chapter 2 ~ 23 verses. Talks of King Herod and how he wanted to prevent Jesus from being. It talks of how God sent His angel to stear Jesus and His family from harm of Herod and the gifts to Jesus from the Magi at His birth. An important thing to remember about the gifts was the gift of Myrrh, which is an embalming herb used to prepare bodies when they die; this shows that the wise men knew that Jesus was the one prophecized to be the messiah, God's son.
