Why Homosexuality is Wrong
11.16.03 (7:45 pm)   [edit]
I am addressing this issue because it has become controversial. Now, what is politically correct isn't always correct. It should only be considered correct if it meets God's standards. If we all know the truth, we wont need to battle each other over matters that have a right and a wrong way. Where else to discover the truth than in God's word?
Sexual practices and gender aren't a matter of personal choice.
"And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the Earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the Earth.
So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful and multiply, and replenish the Earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over tyhe fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the Earth."
The book of Genesis, Chapter 1.
God created human beings with free will and provided opportunities for them to enjoy their freedom. He gave them dominion over all of his other Earthly creations, to care for them. He was even allowed to name them.
"And out of the ground the Lord God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air, and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof," Genesis Chapter 2, Verse 19.
Who was Adam? Adam was the first man. Ooo-la-la. His name, originally translated, would be pronounced Ha-Ah-Dom. How did God created him?
"And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul," Genesis Chaputer 2, Verse 7.
This is why when man dies, he decomposes back into the dust of the ground of which he was formed.
God put this man in a paradise, called Eden. Eden was separated by 4 rivers, named in Chapter 2 of Genesis, and had minerals and many, many trees. Adam was to tend to these trees and he could eat the fruit of any of them, except that of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. Then, God judged that it wasn't right for man to be alone.
"And the Lord God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him," Genesis Chapter 2, Verse 18 (grammatically exact).
So he gave him the animals, formed out of the ground, and let him name them. But there was still no help for Adam.
So then...
"And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof;
And the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.
And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall bbe called Woman, because she was taken out of MAn.
Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh," Genesis Chapter 2, Verses 21-24.
So God made Adam sleep and he took a "rib" from him. Later, I discovered that the original word used for "rib" in the original Bible was the word "curve," and this was supposed to mean curve of DNA, as in the curve of a double-helix. And God allowed Adam to name her Woman. So that's why when a man and a woman marry, they are considered "one flesh."
God gave instructions when it came to sexuality that were there since the beginning. Woman was for man.
This was the way God created it. Of course, if we go against the way makes something, we are angering God.

Now, because of Adam's disobedience, which you can read about if you continue to read and study the book of Genesis, we have all inherited imperfection. We all have strong desires and weaknesses of the "flesh" that are out of harmony with God's purpose.
God gave laws that were against unnatural (natural being the way God created and made things) practices. You can read about those in the book of Leviticus, the third book of Moses, Chapter 18, Versus 6 to about 24. God also forbids men from portraying themselves as members of the opposing sex for immoral purposes. You can read about this in Deuteronomy Chapter 22 Verse 5.
So what is the right way?
God's word teaches that the only sexual relationships approved by God are theose with a member of the opposite sex within marriage.
Somewhere along the lines the other sexual practices became ways of life. Attempts to detract these ways of life have spawned the controversial issues that we see today.
There is still forgiveness in the flesh for those that have turned from God's way.
Read for yourself in 1st Corinthians (The First Epistle of Paul) Chapter 6, Starting at Verse 9. Read it with understanding. It looks like it could confuse someone that weren't truly reading it to understand it.

[Blog Unfinished]
There you are. I encourage you not to just read the smaller selections from the Bible that I have quoted here, but the entire chapters that pertain to them to gain a full understanding. I encourage you to go back and look the verses quoted here today up in your own personal Bible, and, as always, read it with understanding, because...you don't have to take my word for it.

The Bible also says that having sex with a woman while she's on her period is wrong.

So God made Adam sleep and he took a "rib" from him. Later, I discovered that the original word used for "rib" in the original Bible was the word "curve," and this was supposed to mean curve of DNA, as in the curve of a double-helix.

I'm sure if you dig and translate long enough, you'll find a word that means "internet" in the Bible too.

Your argument is full of "I'm right and if you disagree it means you're not reading the Bible and translating it the way I'm translating it" arguments. Typical, conservative, Christian attitude.

Now, obviously it's very difficult to really determine what the Bible means. If it wasn't difficult, then you wouldn't have all these Christians disagreeing and breaking off into different sects. But, somehow, someway, you've determined that you are the one somebody who's managed to translate the Bible correctly. My hat's off to you.

Yea, God says a lot of crazy things. Like that whole 'not boiling a kid in its mothers' milk' deal. Just as we grow up and rebel against our Earthly parents and become adults who think for ourselves, so too must we rebel against our Father in Heaven and become freethinkers. Tell God to stick it, and live your life for itself.

Just for giggles see if you can count up how many times God admonishes heterosexuals as opposed to homosexuals in the Bible.

Isaac's never said the way he reads the Bible is right, he's just told how he sees it. It's no lie, homosexuality is wrong, anyone can read that in the Bible, it's as plain as font on your comp. There are different ways to read the Bible, God has it planned that way, but I'll bet if you read one part once and then a few months or years later read it again, you'll get something totally different out of it, God planned the Bible that way. Well, happy reading. Cya. Peace and love.

You need to stop treating God like your S&M master and start living your own life. Grow up already. Stop being so afraid of making your own values and living in your infantile fairyland. Get out of your spiritual comfort zone.

You crazy Christians! Remember when Jesus came around? Mr. Liberal? Mr. Let's be friends with women and appear to one of them first before my disciples?

As I recall, he never said anything about homosexuality. I believe he said "Believe in God above all things" and "Love your neighbor as you love yourself." not "Condemn your neighbor if they happen to love someone of the same sex." He was all for acceptance and forgiveness.

Besides, did you know that homosexuality occurs in nature? Granted perhaps at a 1% rate but still, it happens.

As a Witch, I see the union between two people in love as a glorious symbol of the eternal power of the God and the
Goddess. And that's any loving union, m/f, m/m, f/f.

Of course! Jesus's teachings are what I hold dear to my heart. As I am trying to live a life exemplary of his life, I become friends with everyone that I am in contact with. I have known and love a few homosexual people and the fact that that's the way they've chose to deal with their sexuality and even though they are sinning it doesn't stop me from being their loving friend. Nothing would. There are far worse people that commit far dirtier deeds. And it's not up to us to judge others. Only God can do this. Who's to say what God thinks? We only have the mind of Christ and what God teaches to us through his words.
Spartacus. There is much, much more strength in dependence than there is in independence. Say life is a long, long path that leads to either heaven or hell and there are infinitely many paths to each. If you try to be independent of God, lets say you're taking a path that is 6, 666 thousand miles long. And when you've reached the end of that path, you find that it has wound back close to where it began and you've only moved 6 feet from your starting point. When you've walked similar paths a thousand times, you'll finally reach your destination. If you're depending on God and you read the truth and it tells you the right path, you're going on a path that is 7,777 feet long, but at the end of the path you don't wind back to where you began, it leads straight to heaven.
There is great strength in dependence!
Let go of the whole rebellion thing, that's untrue and it's not of God but of men. Man is born imperfect and you have been mislead by something false. I never rebelled against my parents. I was never sent to my room or put on punishment. Your heavenly father is different from your Earthly father: he's perfect, he created you, and he loves you more than anyone alive. He's been with you since you began and he understands you more than you understand yourself.

When they can't figure out whatelse to say, they typically respond with a comment meant to demean or degrade. Said comment usually makes the anonymous poster look like the . . . well, let's say, you couldn't come up with anything better to respond with.

I don't believe that. If you believe it, then don't do it and you shall enjoy the kingdom of Heaven. Well, unless you've lied, thieved, judged others, had sex with a woman while she's on her period, harmed any of God's creatures (both humans and animals), etc. Oh wait, all you have to do is pray and ask for forgiveness and all your sins will washed away.

Christians really need to find something else to do than to worry about what us homosexuals are doing. Isn't there a soup kitchen somewhere that needs food? Now that's a typical homosexual response.

getting out of my spiritual comfort zone to me, means coming closer to God. Maybe he is my Master, but he's a good one. I enjoy living under his commandments to the best of my ability. It gives me a guidline, rules weren't ment to be broken. They're for ppl's safety. God created his rules not only for our physical safety but our spiritual safety as well. They let me know how far I can go. if you want me to "get out of my spiritual comfort zone" that would be awesome, as being closer to God and feeling his presence is the most awsome feeling in the world. Why don't you try to feel it a little?

you're right, Jesus didn't say to comdemn ppl, that's basically like judging, "Judge not, lest ye be judged." but you know what, telling you the truth, isn't comdemning you, it's trying to help you. take it or leave it, that's just how it is

you can't just pray and get forgivness, it's called a repentant heart and God knows if you have one or not. When you ask forgivness you try not to do that sin anymore, the only way you really try is if you have a repentant heart, otherwise, it's not going to seem worth it to try to not do whatever that sin is. God doesn't just pick and choose certain ppl, Oh, I think Joe has a repentant heart today I guess I'll forgive him. He knows your heart, whether it's white as snow with the Holy Spirit in it, or a black heart filled with hate and suffering.

Interesting...
For starters, you're assuming what the bible says is true. If it were, pi=3 (Kings 7:23, IIRC).
I might add; what ensures you that your interpretation of the bible is the correct one?
I think this will be the last ones. Do you care? Does it hurt you directly? Does it hurt anyone?
Now, I question I can't answer (in fact I'm looking for one): Why the bible holds the truth? (Does that mean that the Torah or the Coran are wrong?, if yes, why?). Please don't answer with something like "God wrote it", because that's kind of a circular argument.

I and everyone else in the world who loves something has felt the same feeling you do when you 'experience God.' I just recognize it for what it is- a feeling, which is a validation of my values, not a validation of fact. You need to stop being such an Uncle Tom and start being a free person.

The Bible verses, all of which dealt with homosexuality, are as follows:

You shall not lie with a male as with a woman. It is an abomination. (Leviticus 18:22)

If a man lies with a male as he lies with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination. They shall surely be put to death. Their blood shall be upon them. (Leviticus 20:13)

For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse … For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due. (Romans 1:18-19 and 26-27)

Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God. (1 Corinthians 6:9-11)

The Corinthian verses quoted above reveal some very important truths. There were homosexuals in the Corinthian Church – just as there were fornicators, adulterers, thieves, drunkards, etc. All of these were forgiven and justified before God when they received the gift of pardon purchased for them by Jesus Christ. But just as the thief, the adulterer, the fornicator and the drunkard were required to change their behavior, so the homosexual had to change his lifestyle.

Alright. I'm going to answer and clear up all of the comments in a second post. But, straight off the bat, I want to answer the comment about pi in the Bible. Pi is a circle's ratio of circumference to its diameter. If you look closely at the parts of the Bible that mention something that could be related to the value of pi and read with understanding you'll see that it really doesn't reference the values to be 3 (First Book of the Kings Chapter 7 Verses 23 to 26 and the Second Book of the Chronicles Chapter 4 Verses 2 to 5).
I once checked out a little yellow book from the library that detailed all about the histories of pi and how it appeared in different civilizations. I remember it saying something about it being accurate in the Bible... There are more than 58 billion digits in pi. The world's largest and most powerful supercomputers, miles long, haven't been able to come close to finding the end of the number. More on this later...
