So God made Adam sleep and he took a "rib" from him. Later, I discovered that the original word used for "rib" in the original Bible was the word "curve," and this was supposed to mean curve of DNA, as in the curve of a double-helix. I'm sure if you dig and translate long enough, you'll find a word that means "internet" in the Bible too. Your argument is full of "I'm right and if you disagree it means you're not reading the Bible and translating it the way I'm translating it" arguments. Typical, conservative, Christian attitude. Now, obviously it's very difficult to really determine what the Bible means. If it wasn't difficult, then you wouldn't have all these Christians disagreeing and breaking off into different sects. But, somehow, someway, you've determined that you are the one somebody who's managed to translate the Bible correctly. My hat's off to you. Like that whole 'not boiling a kid in its mothers' milk' deal. Just as we grow up and rebel against our Earthly parents and become adults who think for ourselves, so too must we rebel against our Father in Heaven and become freethinkers. Tell God to stick it, and live your life for itself. posted by: DRAMA (reply) post date: 11.16.03 (7:27 pm) Just for giggles see if you can count up how many times God admonishes heterosexuals as opposed to homosexuals in the Bible. posted by: dhsmeg87 (reply) post date: 11.16.03 (8:21 pm) Reply to: theauctionboard Isaac's never said the way he reads the Bible is right, he's just told how he sees it. It's no lie, homosexuality is wrong, anyone can read that in the Bible, it's as plain as font on your comp. There are different ways to read the Bible, God has it planned that way, but I'll bet if you read one part once and then a few months or years later read it again, you'll get something totally different out of it, God planned the Bible that way. Well, happy reading. Cya. Remember when Jesus came around? Mr. Liberal? Mr. Let's be friends with women and appear to one of them first before my disciples? As I recall, he never said anything about homosexuality. I believe he said "Believe in God above all things" and "Love your neighbor as you love yourself." not "Condemn your neighbor if they happen to love someone of the same sex." He was all for acceptance and forgiveness. Besides, did you know that homosexuality occurs in nature? Granted perhaps at a 1% rate but still, it happens. As a Witch, I see the union between two people in love as a glorious symbol of the eternal power of the God and the Goddess. And that's any loving union, m/f, m/m, f/f. posted by: Isaac (reply) post date: 11.17.03 (1:36 am) Of course! Jesus's teachings are what I hold dear to my heart. As I am trying to live a life exemplary of his life, I become friends with everyone that I am in contact with. I have known and love a few homosexual people and the fact that that's the way they've chose to deal with their sexuality and even though they are sinning it doesn't stop me from being their loving friend. Nothing would. There are far worse people that commit far dirtier deeds. And it's not up to us to judge others. Only God can do this. Who's to say what God thinks? We only have the mind of Christ and what God teaches to us through his words. Spartacus. There is much, much more strength in dependence than there is in independence. Say life is a long, long path that leads to either heaven or hell and there are infinitely many paths to each. If you try to be independent of God, lets say you're taking a path that is 6, 666 thousand miles long. And when you've reached the end of that path, you find that it has wound back close to where it began and you've only moved 6 feet from your starting point. When you've walked similar paths a thousand times, you'll finally reach your destination. If you're depending on God and you read the truth and it tells you the right path, you're going on a path that is 7,777 feet long, but at the end of the path you don't wind back to where you began, it leads straight to heaven. There is great strength in dependence! Let go of the whole rebellion thing, that's untrue and it's not of God but of men. Man is born imperfect and you have been mislead by something false. I never rebelled against my parents. I was never sent to my room or put on punishment. Your heavenly father is different from your Earthly father: he's perfect, he created you, and he loves you more than anyone alive. He's been with you since you began and he understands you more than you understand yourself. posted by: theauctionboard (reply) post date: 11.17.03 (9:53 am) Reply to: newbie

I don't believe that. If you believe it, then don't do it and you shall enjoy the kingdom of Heaven. Well, unless you've lied, thieved, judged others, had sex with a woman while she's on her period, harmed any of God's creatures (both humans and animals), etc. Oh wait, all you have to do is pray and ask for forgiveness and all your sins will washed away. Christians really need to find something else to do than to worry about what us homosexuals are doing. Isn't there a soup kitchen somewhere that needs food? Now that's a typical homosexual response. posted by: dhsmeg87 (reply) post date: 11.17.03 (12:50 pm) Reply to: therealspartacus007 getting out of my spiritual comfort zone to me, means coming closer to God. Maybe he is my Master, but he's a good one. I enjoy living under his commandments to the best of my ability. It gives me a guidline, rules weren't ment to be broken. They're for ppl's safety. God created his rules not only for our physical safety but our spiritual safety as well. They let me know how far I can go. if you want me to "get out of my spiritual comfort zone" that would be awesome, as being closer to God and feeling his presence is the most awsome feeling in the world. Why don't you try to feel it a little? posted by: dhsmeg87 (reply) post date: 11.17.03 (12:52 pm) Reply to: Kitfox you're right, Jesus didn't say to comdemn ppl, that's basically like judging, "Judge not, lest ye be judged." but you know what, telling you the truth, isn't comdemning you, it's trying to help you. take it or leave it, that's just how it is posted by: dhsmeg87 (reply) post date: 11.17.03 (1:00 pm) Reply to: theauctionboard you can't just pray and get forgivness, it's called a repentant heart and God knows if you have one or not. When you ask forgivness you try not to do that sin anymore, the only way you really try is if you have a repentant heart, otherwise, it's not going to seem worth it to try to not do whatever that sin is. God doesn't just pick and choose certain ppl, Oh, I think Joe has a repentant heart today I guess I'll forgive him. He knows your heart, whether it's white as snow with the Holy Spirit in it, or a black heart filled with hate and suffering. posted by: Mu (reply) post date: 11.17.03 (5:59 pm) Interesting... For starters, you're assuming what the bible says is true. If it were, pi=3 (Kings 7:23, IIRC). I might add; what ensures you that your interpretation of the bible is the correct one? I think this will be the last ones. Do you care? Does it hurt you directly? Does it hurt anyone? Now, I question I can't answer (in fact I'm looking for one): Why the bible holds the truth? (Does that mean that the Torah or the Coran are wrong?, if yes, why?). Please don't answer with something like "God wrote it", because that's kind of a circular argument. posted by: therealspartacus007 (reply) post date: 11.17.03 (8:54 pm) Reply to: dhsmeg87 I and everyone else in the world who loves something has felt the same feeling you do when you 'experience God.' You need to stop being such an Uncle Tom and start being a free person. posted by: D (reply) post date: 11.20.03 (11:30 am) Reply to: therealspartacus007 The Bible verses, all of which dealt with homosexuality, are as follows: You shall not lie with a male as with a woman. It is an abomination. (Leviticus 18:22) If a man lies with a male as he lies with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination. They shall surely be put to death. Their blood shall be upon them. (Leviticus 20:13) For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse … For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due. (Romans 1:18-19 and 26-27) Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God. (1 Corinthians 6:9-11) posted by: D (reply) post date: 11.20.03 (11:32 am) Reply to: D The Corinthian verses quoted above reveal some very important truths. There were homosexuals in the Corinthian Church – just as there were fornicators, adulterers, thieves, drunkards, etc. All of these were forgiven and justified before God when they received the gift of pardon purchased for them by Jesus Christ. But just as the thief, the adulterer, the fornicator and the drunkard were required to change their behavior, so the homosexual had to change his lifestyle. posted by: therealspartacus007 (reply) post date: 11.20.03 (12:52 pm) Reply to: D Uh yea, I never said the Bible doesn't condmemn homosexuality. I'm going to answer and clear up all of the comments in a second post. But, straight off the bat, I want to answer the comment about pi in the Bible. Pi is a circle's ratio of circumference to its diameter. If you look closely at the parts of the Bible that mention something that could be related to the value of pi and read with understanding you'll see that it really doesn't reference the values to be 3 (First Book of the Kings Chapter 7 Verses 23 to 26 and the Second Book of the Chronicles Chapter 4 Verses 2 to 5). I once checked out a little yellow book from the library that detailed all about the histories of pi and how it appeared in different civilizations. I remember it saying something about it being accurate in the Bible... There are more than 58 billion digits in pi. The world's largest and most powerful supercomputers, miles long, haven't been able to come close to finding the end of the number. More on this later... posted by: Isaac (reply) post date: 12.07.03 (12:03 pm) That was me above. posted by: Isaac (reply) post date: 12.23.03 (10:19 am) Reply to: theauctionboard Reply to: therealspartacus007 I have replied to all of your comments, peoples.
