It's not that I don't believed they are not saved. But I don't believe that everybody is called to be a pastor, evangelist, minister, or a so called prophet. Our relationship with God should always be the word of God, not our ministry, our bible study, our church, or our church friends. One reason I believe people fall out of the faith, is because they do not have foundation in their relationship with God. Our foundation with our relationship with God, should always be the Word of God, and nothing else. Also, it's time for christians to stop preaching just the fluffy side of God. Yes God loves you, but you will still go to Hell if you don't repent for your sins. posted by: Isaac (reply) post date: 03.27.06 (7:52 am) Reply to: Yes, while it is true that you don't need to minister to be saved. The foundation is the Gospel: Christ crucified, buried, and raised up on the third day; But, you are commanded to do those things. Saying that you're not called to do the work of evangelism is like saying you're not called to feed starving children, when you have truck loads of food. But no, you understand the Gospel and you're commanded to share it! True, we're not called to be evangelists, but we are commanded to do the work of evangelism. If you read any of Paul's epistles, he always starts them out, Paul, slave of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle. He had it straight. Slave of Jesus Christ, doing what Jesus asks. But you're right about one thing. Let me ask this, did Jesus Christ ever stave from telling someone that they were transgressors of the law and need to be saved? John Chapter 4, Verse 17, Matthew Chapter, Verse 46, Mark 10, Verse 17... Jesus is truth! posted by: Marcus Rodriguez (reply) post date: 03.31.06 (7:14 am) I am not saying that we should not preach the gospel, I'm saying we are all not called to be ministers and preachers in the church. As Christians we have a duty and an obligation to preach God's Word. (Ezekiel 33:1-6) It is our responsibilty to preach truth to whomever God has place in our path. That I can't deny. It's when we as christians get this warped sense of evangelism and preaching. Warped in the sense that we can only preach and evangelis if we are an ordained pastor or minister. Jesus preached Truth in the marketplace, he was not limited to the temple. Paul still ministered the word of God while he was in jail. Paul preached the gospel, whenever and wherever. The gospel of christ is not limited to just the church. In addition, the greatest way you can ever minister the word of God is to live. People will never see the truth inside of you, if you are christian one day a week. Actions speak louder than words. posted by: bronwynj (reply) post date: 04.08.06 (7:30 pm) I expect most people who don't attend church regularly were either offended or annoyed by a person who does attend regularly - or they do not feel inspired by what is preached, & the person preaching. posted by: Isaac (reply) post date: 04.08.06 (7:33 pm) Reply to: bronwynj God says that they cling onto the darkness in fear of the light because they love the darkness - they have their own lusts, they run and serve themselves and their own life and they see they don't need Him. They're like coch roaches, they love the darkness, not because of some church-related activity - that's an excuse not to come to the Saviour, a straw man they set up. When the real root of the problem is their own lusts, and their conscience being black in God's eyes. posted by: Isaac (reply) post date: 04.08.06 (7:36 pm) They've lied, they've stolen, and they've committed adultery in their heart. Tell this angry old man to stop lusting after the old ladies with his eyes, and he'll get angry because you're testifying against him that his works are evil, when in his own eyes, he's a pure, good person. Almost every man is pure in his own eyes. They'll never be right with God, behind the church, until they see that they're spiritually dead in their sins and need Him. They need Jesus Christ. |
