Life is Tiny!
02.22.04 (2:59 pm)   [edit]
Last Thursday I came to school and in first period, I felt something in my ear. I reached in to see what it was and there was some sort of white waxy crust in my ear. I reached in and scraped it off, which was gross, and then blood started leaking out of my ear. I didn't panic, but I wiped the blood with some tissue. The tissue was soaked in blood, but I tried to hide it. I remained calm, but thoughts were rushing through my head that my brain was leaking and that I was going to die soon. I really did believe this. I wasn't worried or sad. Or angry, for that matter. I didn't go into denial or cause a panic. I sat quietly, waiting for my ear to stop issueing blood.

After a while, another student asked to go to the clinic. I asked to go with him and said something was wrong with me, too. The clinic was closed and it said to go to another office (thanks a lot Governor Jeb). The lady wasn't a nurse and didn't know what to do. I couldn't get a hold of my mum (no cell phone or way to contact anyone in an emergency, no car and no address or clue where the place she works is). So, I went back to class. The ear stopped its outlet. I could feel my inner ear surging with pain and I began to get a slight headache. I knew I was going to die sooner or later.

I didn't have any flashbacks. No regrets. No "I want to tell my mum that I love her." Nothing. At the end of class, after I had walked out, I looked to the sky and thanked my heavenly Father.

When I got home, I plugged in "bleeding ear" into Google, discovered that the bleeding ear was a symptom of a healing ruptured ear drum and that I would live to see another day.

After thinking about this, the night before I was telling Mary how I've been through and have learned quite a bit and I'm only 17 and that if I'm going to live 120 years, life is too long and that I wasn't afraid of death. Though I proved this the day after, my heavenly Father's demonstration to me brought me to realize that life is tiny! I'm only here 120 years! That's nothing! It feels like yesterday I was 2 years old on an English street, holding my mother's hand. I can still remember it quite clearly and if I close my eyes and block out everything, it feels lik eit was yesterday. We only have so long before we're old and on our deathbed waiting for the day of atonement! If it's God's will that He should allow to live that long, even at all!

Don't waste what the Lord has given you! When the first man was created in Genesis, the Lord breathed into his nostrils life. (The Hebrew word for this breath is "RUAH", meaning wind, as I recall.) Every breath we take is a precious gift of love from the Lord! Don't waste it!

Good thinking... The precious gift of breath means we should be thankful. We should also use our brains: as God didn't give them to us in order to hand them over to others...

TY :)

So, there's this hotel manager, right? He's sitting behind his desk, minding his own business, when in through the door walks none other than Jesus Christ himself. He strolls up in his bling-blinging white robe and nods to the hotel manager. Hotel manager can't believe his eyes, and finally stammers, "W-well hello, Jesus. What can I do for you?"

Jesus smiles, drops three nails on the desk. Says: "Can you put me up for the night?"
