I posted this on a Group on Facebook called True Purity, and thought to put it here. I don't usually post in groups, but the Lord did something to me that day. Today the Lord did something for me. I avoid women like the plague. If I'm walking down the path and there's one there, and I know she's going to pose an interest in me, I'll go the opposite way, way out of the way, just to avoid them. Why? Don't want to sin against my Savior! You can argue with me on doctrine and try and make it okay to sin - but my heart has been changed by Christ, and I'd rather die than sin against my Savior. I love Him. I know Him. But more importantly though - He loves me. He knows me.
That being said, open your bible to: 1 Corinthians 7:27. Read that in your own bible! "Art thou bound unto a wife? seek not to be loosed. Art thou loosed from a wife? seek not a wife."
Christ makes Paul spend the entire chapter addressing marriage and on certain aspects of marriage not clearly addressed - Paul making a godly assessment guided by the Spirit. 1st Corinthians 7:27 raises up a standard - don't seek a wife. Why not? Because it'll eat at you! You'll fall into many silly lusts - like surfing FaceBook looking for pretty faces, for example. And wife-shopping. Sounds silly, but it's easy to fall into lust and temptation. Jesus said if you look at a woman with lust, you adulterate against Christ, sinning against your God and your own body - and this includes on the internet, walking around.
The godly principle is in Matthew 6:33,"But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." 'These things' were explained in the ch. But, this includes a *wife*. I exhort all that hear this - seek after Christ. Seek the kingdom, His Word... Keep what He's taught you in faith. Practice godliness. God WILL add unto you that wife - He knows your need for companionship.
I have faith that my practice of literally staying away from all temptation is honouring God. That's the last step. Pray
