Please pray for me, you all. I have been stuck at Wal-Mart for 1 year, 1 month, and 27 days as of this post. I so much want to leave, but the reason why I'm there is because the Lord put me there! He's disciplined me there for that long, and I've wanted to leave, but the Spirit's kept me there. Please pray for me that my work there at Wal-Mart will be done so I can go to church. I so much want to join up to a body of disciples of Christ who are passionate about the Lord, but I need to get out of this part of the desert before I can get a day's journey away from it, if you know what I mean...

Song
03.28.06 (1:21 pm)   [edit]

No one can shade the beauty of my Lord.
I can't wait to see the judgement day.
Just wait and see the smile upon His face.
He looks at me, and begins to say, Good and faithful slave, Come with me today.

And whatsoever aways, I'll be with my God.
Paths paved with gold, eternal endless skies.
Fall upon my face, as I catch His gaze.
See the water in His chest, and the fire in His eyes.
Finally see the end of death, the darkness and the lies.

Can't wait to see the day, we're all together again.
Count eternal days and see how long its been.
To be free from all the chains and the heavy yoke of sin.
To see fear and doubt in pain and faith in Christ win.
By the blood of Christ slain, We will see it at the end.
And so I lift up His name, and fight the fear of men.
I will say the weak are strong, and meet the Lion at His den.
Lord, I wont go wrong again, your Spirit is within.
Lord, would you please tell my dad the true state his heart is in.
And tell my mother I love her, and the price Jesus paid.
Dear sisters and brothers, I'll be waiting that day.
Please come and follow us to Jesus, cause He's the only way.
Can't wait to see the day, that the devil's in his grave.
Kiss the cheeks of Jesus, see the smile on His face.
Give rivers of milk and Honey a thirst quenching taste.
To see the only one who saved, to lift up His name in praise.
And look and be amazed at the sound of holy grace.
And see the judgement proclaimed on all the human race.
I don't know what they'll say, but He'll make them surely pay.

Let the Gospel be on my breath when they found me at my death.

And their eyes burst and cry when Jesus raises me alive.

Deathbed
03.25.06 (11:03 am)   [edit]

Deathbed

Dear Lord, Give me time! I lay adying...
Empty collection plates. Theiving. Lying.
Every day I begged a sign, said I surely would believe.
The sign was already sent, it was the cross.
And now I die, I realize now, sobbing and crying.
Time spent on my life was all a loss.
The Son of Man paid my fine. Reason I was conceived.
Bitter taste of death and satin blood stain.
Having no excuse, but to say I was deceived.
I rejected you and live my life in vain.

But before I lay me down to sleep...
Every day I lie in bed and ponder this wonder.
Did you take the beatings for me?

Thinking of me when torn asunder by the whip?
Tell me Lord, why did you patiently accept.
They tore your beard and plucked the hairs.
You took it to pay for me? You loved me?
I rejected you, and now I take my place,
Among those that disgrace your perfect face.
I lied. I stole. I murdered. I conceived.
And when it came time to turn and trust,
I a fool for saying you didn't love.
I rejected and I did not believe.
And now I die on this bed.
Please, Lord, save my friends.
It's too late for me. I die.

"And because this bible... even the cults, when they use a little bit of the truth, get results - The mormons, and the Jehovah's Witnesses, and the Moodys, they quote from the same book that you and I love. And that's power, man. That is power. This has got power in it. You take the scripture, even twist it, it STILL WORKS!!!  Somewhat to entice somebody, to draw them - that's why the devil quoted scripture to Jesus. He didn't bring out the bhaga vida, the bible of ghavida, the Qur'an - he brought out the bible. Because he knew the only way to trick God is with His own words. ...

It is estimated that 90% of all people that make decisions for Christ do not attend church regularly 5 years later. ...what kind of converts 'todays Gospel' produces. ...
1. It's me-centered, instead of Christ-centered. ...The bible places Jesus at the center of God's plan. Not the sinner. One of the most well-known phrases in modern evangelism is 'God loves you and has a wonderful plan for your life.' But the biblical truth that needs to be presented to the sinner's mind is, 'You've made yourself the enemy of God.'"

"You look at the people that are on the earth today. ... When was the last time you heard 3 thousand people actually getting saved? ... There wasn't even a billion people on the earth when Jesus walked. And thousands, and thousands and thousands got saved, that was when the Holy Spirit was moving! Today, 500 people get saved here, 10 people get saved there, and we think it's the second pentecost! If a real revival broke ever out on this earth, there wouldn't be a church big enough to hold even the usher's meeting!
Our vision is so small. ... God isn't waiting for Charles Finney to rise from the dead. He;s not waiting for your pastor to go door to door. He's waiting for every one of YOU - every Christian in the world - to get alive so that they can save the people around them. If that happened, the whole world would at least have a chance to get saved; Have a chance to be confronted with the Gospel."

True Holiness. Keith Green.
03.18.06 (10:46 am)   [edit]
"Today, possibly the greatest insult of the Gospel has been the almost total neglect of the preaching of holiness to the Christian. Jesus doesn't want to make believe that we're holy, He wants to impart His holiness to us by the Holy Spirit.
But because people are not being driven to the cross, convicted by His law to repentance, in real rebirth - then we have to spend hours in our seminaries trying to find suitable, complicated ways to explain away the obvious meanings of scripture."

Don't make believe you're saved...
03.18.06 (10:41 am)   [edit]

"In this example of pretzel logic, we are lead to believe that any believer who isn't really walking with the Lord at the present time and is indulging in the sins of the world and the lust of the flesh can still be considered a Christian. But not a Christian of the first class, no, no! But a Christian of the second class! Find THAT in the bible! A carnal Christian - here we have the case of the believer who doesn't believe. Oh, he still believes and quotes that God is God and there;s a heaven and hell and so on. But don't forget the devil believes all these things, too, according to James 22. And he's not going to heaven. ... He knows all the right things to say to convince Granny and the pastor and his Christian friends he's still hanging in there. He can sort of believe in himself.
Seems he's got everybody fooled. Everybody that is, except God! The bible is clear that if we say that we have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness, we LIE and do not practice the truth. It's what we PRACTICE, that proves who we serve."

Imputed, imparted.
03.18.06 (10:33 am)   [edit]

"Jesus is our Lawyer, He stands before God. ... We belong to Christ and Christ is our sanctifier. He's our sanctification - He wants to cleanse us.
It isn't imputed righteoussnes, it's imparted righteousness. Imputed means, you're not really righteous, but God considers you righteous. Imparted means, you're not really righteous, but God wants to make you righteous. There's a difference between 'making us' and 'making believe.'"

Imparted
1. To grant a share of; bestow: impart a subtle flavor; impart some advice.
2. To make known; disclose: persuaded to impart the secret.
3. To pass on; transmit: imparts forward motion.

Imputed
1. To relate to a particular cause or source; attribute the fault or responsibility to: imputed the rocket failure to a faulty gasket; kindly imputed my clumsiness to inexperience.
2. To assign as a characteristic; credit: the gracefulness so often imputed to cats.

Few lost words...
03.18.06 (2:52 am)   [edit]

I wrote these on the back of a Mr. Fastfinger sheet of fast riffs/licks.

They wonder in the night, led by the blind.
Swearing they know what's right, and wrong.
They believe they are fine, they seek after a sign,
Caring only for their own, but they don't have long.
They say, Yes I am Good, they take pleasure in wrong.
They hate the light and cling onto the dark,
If only they could hear this song.
It would tear their self-righteousness apart.

More Keithy...
03.18.06 (2:26 am)   [edit]

"But because there is so little real conviction of sin brought about by the preaching of our modern Gospel, we cannot truly require repentance anymore. This is very important. ...If we did, no one would come forward at all. Because, remember? What produces conviction? The law. What makes people want to repent? Conviction. If we don't preach the law, people aren't convicted. If they aren't convicted, they have nothing to repent for. If they have nothing to repent for, they can't be convert. Therefore we have to 'invent a whole new system, based on gooy sticky kindly preaching,' which doesn't produce repentance... If we did, no one would come forward at all. For repentance is easy to him who sees how ugly and horrible sin is. But repentance is impossible where the law does not convince a sinner of his wicked heart - Compelling him to turn from his sins in the arms of a waiting, compassionate God.

You see that all these removed parts of the Gospel are connected. In God's wisdom, every aspect of the appointed way of salvation is irreplaceable. You take out one car from the train, and the rest of it just stays in the station!"

We need to follow one train. Jesus Christ.

Keith Green...Again.
03.18.06 (1:39 am)   [edit]

He was scared for sinners! That's why He warned them! But we are scared of scaring. So we don't warn them. He was scared for their ultimate fate. We are scared for the instant fear that we might produce in them and we don't care about their ultimate fate enough to scare them a little bit... I know a woman who died of breast cancer. She wouldn't go to the doctor. She was afraid that she had breast cancer. And so she wouldn't go to the doctor. Until her chest was throbbing. And boils started to show up. They started breaking out and bleeding. And she went to the doctor and the doctor said 'You have breast cancer.' And so she said, 'I didn't want to come to you because I was afraid that I had breast cancer!' He said, 'If you would have come to me even three weeks ago, I could have saved your life. But I can't now. It's too late.' She was afraid of finding out what was! Because it was. And all the fear in the world that they're going to hell wont keep them from hell - all the fear in the world that they need an operation. Now, he had to save her life by removing her breast. A horrible thought. But she had children 5, 10 years old, and she died within 6 months. ... Fear of having something does not make you not have it. And our fear that we're going to hurt someone isn't going to help them at all."

"We cannot remove the threat and terrors of hell. Jesus...He didn't wince from talking about the penalty of not serving God. But we do. We need to have people see themselves as criminals, not poor misguided souls. Now, we might be able to see them as poor misguided souls...but we can't have them look at themselves that way. ...When your little 3 year old boy tells him exactly what not to do you don't pick him up and go, 'Oh poor baby, you don't understand.' [smack] That will help him understand. That's the law... We have no right to remove what Jesus didn't remove. ... There is verse after verse after verse about the threats and punishments of being disobediant to God."

03.18.06 (1:27 am)   [edit]

"The law of God that condemns sin is harsh. The law is very harsh...The law of God is black and white. The justice of God is black and white. The condemnation of the law is black and white, but the mercy of God is not - the mercy of God will reach out into the black to try and bring somebody over to the light. The love of God will go into hell - David said 'even if I make my bed in hell, behold, though art there.' That's heavy. Why did Jesus go to hell and preach to the sinners in hell? It says He did. Because He had mercy. They were condemned. But you see, God's mercy doesn't mean a hill of beans to anyone out there listening to the Gospel - Unless you show them what God needs to be merciful to them about. What if the judge says to the Guy who's guilty of murder - 'Well, I sentence you to death, but I don't want to freak you out, so I'm acquitting you?'
But, does that mean the same to the guy who's sentenced to death and he's waiting 2 years on death row, and he's coming up to the last minute and he's waiting, and he's praying 'God, h ave the governor or the president disgrant the execution,' and he's waiting and waiting and waiting and he's sweating and the priest comes and they lead him off to the chamber, and he has his last meal and he's walking toward it and at the last minute the guy's about to pull the switch and they say 'Wait a minute, the governor just called. You're free.' That's the Gospel. The law HAS to condemn."

Take up the Cross...
03.18.06 (12:50 am)   [edit]

"Now, what is the cross of Christ? What does it mean, Jesus Christ and Him crucified? Nowaday's, it isn't 'Jesus Christ and Him crucified,' it's 'Jesus Christ and what He can do for you.' You cannot have more exact opposites than the Bible's Christ-cente red Gospel and our modern, cross-less me-center ed Gospel. Today, if anyone teaches self-denial as a condition for discipleship - you can hear the comments afterwards - old-fashion-ed, harsh, legalistic. I dare say that our dear Lord would have as much trouble finding acceptance among our preachers as He had among the religious leaders of His own day."

How to Become a Christian
03.17.06 (2:14 pm)   [edit]

A long time ago, I wrote this at Wikipedia, but realized it said nothing about how to become saved. So, I have updated it with the knowledge the Lord's given me as an evangelist.

http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/How_to_Become_a_ Christian" title="http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/How_to_Become_a_ Christian" target="_blank"http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/...

The term "Christian" is a name given to those that follow after Jesus Christ, trusting in Jesus Christ, God in the flesh. The first disciples of Jesus Christ in the first century were first ''called'' Christians at Antioch, as accounted in the Acts of the Apostles Chapter 11, Verse 26, and remains a wholely worldly title: God wont call you "Christian" when you enter into the kingdom of Heaven, He calls you son. Someone who receives and trusts/believes in the name of Jesus Christ and keeps and does what He says is both a follower and disciple of Him, and in knowing Jesus Christ, knows God Himself. God has so much mercy, He personally came down in the flesh to handle the matter of destroying unrighteousness, which is the root of death, and providing a way for anyone to be reconciled with Him.

----

== How to Become Christian ==

===Who is Good?===
Do you consider yourself to be a good person? Do you think you have you kept the 10 commandments? Here's the test. Have you ever told a lie? If you have told even one, or have stretched the truth, you are a liar. Have you ever stolen anything: a paperclip, food, or even an answer off of someone's test? Then, you are a thief. Have you ever hated anyone, or called someone a bad name? Then you have committed the act of murder in your heart. You are a murderer. Have you ever used the Lord's name in vain? Then, you can add blasphemer to that list.
Ever looked at someone in your heart out of desire or lust? By God's standard you are an adulterer.

'''Am I Good?'''
If you have answered yes to any question above, then you are a lying, thieving, blaspheming, murderer and adulterer at heart, and those are only the first 5 of the 10 commandments. God declares that whosoever keeps the law, and yet offends in one point, is still a transgressor of the law. Even if you can truthfully answer no to any of those questions, by unobstructive certainty you can say that you have not kept the first two commandments, which say that You shall have no other god before me. This means, that I must love the Lord God so much so that my love for my mother, father, brothers, sisters, uncles, friends, other family, children, spouse, and even my own life, looks like hate compared to my love for the Lord, from birth. And no one has kept it.
If you have ever even broken a promise, you're a covenant breaker. And any man who has transgressed God's law cannot inherit the kingdom of Heaven or come anywhere near God. This is sin.

'''Why is Sin Important?'''
Sin is transgression of the law, which is unrighteousness. If you are found guilty under God's law, you are a sinner. God doesn't want you to say, "Yes, generally, I am a sinner." He wants you to see that you personally have sinned ''against Him''. And that all sin is against God, sinning against the sovereign God. You recognize that you have the cancerous disease that has plagued God's creation on this planet for so very long. Statistically, 10 out of 10 die. God claims Judge of all the earth for a title. And the judge of all the earth has proclaimed death upon the soul that 'sins,' to put away the unrighteousness.
Sin separates everyone from God. No uncleanness or unrighteousness can enter into God's kingdom. Though '''not all sin is equal, the fact that you ''have'' sinned, is what shows you that you are a sinner.'''

'''The Punishment for Sin'''
The punishment for sin is hell; Mentioned all through God's Word, in both the Old Testament and the New, hell is a place of eternal torment, a bottomless pit, lake of fire, where one burns in an unquenchable eternal fire surrounded by flames and darkness. The worm dies not. And the screams of suffering and pain are screams that cry out, "Jesus, Lord, save me, come down and preach to me." But, no prayer is answered from hell, and there is only pain and suffering day and night. This is the second death, and is how God will put away evil from His Kingdom.

=== Saved ===
Now that you know what you will be saved ''from'', you can know what it means to be saved from it.

'''Judgement'''
Once you know that you would be found guilty of sin, it is imperative to know that God has appointed a day in which He'll judge all unrighteousness done and those found guilty of transgressing the law, or sinning, will be cast into the second death, hell. But God's provided a way out of the death, by His own mercy.
You will go before the judge and the books will be opened and all that you have done down here will be revealed to all creation.

'''How to Become a Christian'''
By God's own goodness, He MUST punish murderers, thieves, adulterers. He says, "All liars shall have their part in the lake of fire..." (Revelations Chapter 21, Verse 8). The law must be satisfied. God provided a way out in that He came down Himself and taught, taking upon Himself the name 'Jesus,' which means in its original Hebrew form Salvation of God, and 'Christ,' which is the title 'Messiah,' the role of Saviour that He told His people in the book of Isaiah, Psalms, Deuteronomy, and all the prophets, He would take up when He would come, more than 700 years before He would do it. He came and taught and raised up the first to be saved, and died willingly on a cross of wood at Calvary, making the very hill He was crucified on.
Put simply, God took your punishment on His own shoulders.
How do you receive that? By putting your trust in Jesus Christ, the only name by which you can be saved, turning from your sins (repent).

'''Court Case Parable'''
Think of it this way: You appear in court for a serious crime. The judge sees you sobbing profusely and sees that you're guilty, but that the law is doing its job (repentance, conscience). But, the fine still has to be paid or you will be put away. Jesus Christ is the one who walks into the court room and says, "I love this person, and I have sold everything I have to set him free," and lays down your unpayable fine on the judge's stand. He took your punishment upon Himself, paying your fine and satisfying the law, so that the judge can let you go.

===Jesus Christ===
This Jesus Christ is God in the flesh (1st John Chapter 4, Verse 2), who knowing you before you were to be born, forsook and left His own glory in His own kingdom as the Creator, and came down as one like you, in the form of a man, in order to satisfy the law under your behalf.

'''To be Saved'''
To be saved, you must be regenerated and converted in your mind at the fact that God Himself died for you, and has prepared a place for you in His kingdom. Because you were too weak through the flesh to keep His commandments, God sends you His Holy Spirit to reside within you the moment you have turned from your sins and turned to God to help you keep His commandments, but not under the flesh but according to His mercy, grace (Galatians Chapter 2, Verse 16). Since it is impossible to keep the law, God's sent you the Spirit to help you with your infirmities and through Jesus has set an example on how to be holy, as He is holy. Put your trust in Jesus Christ, turning from sin, and so long as you remain in the Spirit, you will have a place reserved for you in the kingdom of Heaven.

In the Spirit, God gives you a new heart with new desires and wants. You set your affections on the things of God, rather than serving yourself. You take up the yolk of Jesus Christ here on earth, so that when you're glorified in the kingdom of Heaven and receive the crown of Life, you are a King and a Priest before God rather than a sinner, or what occupation you have here.
Because you have born the Spirit within yourself, Christ has given you His own righteousness, and you will be found a pillar of righteousness in God's temple in the kingdom of Heaven.

'''Where Do I Go From Here?'''
The rest of this Wikipedia article is an excerpt of a thing written by Evangelist John Rice that you might find helpful. The best place to go is straight to the Book of John, or Matthew, in the New Testament, if you own a bible. Or, [[http://www.blueletterbible.or...;chapter=1&verse=18&a mp;version=kjv]] if you do not own it to get it online. Walk in the Spirit, seeking and following after the things of God.

== What Must I Do to Be Saved? ==

Here in the simplest, shortest form is put the question to which every man must learn the answer, or spend eternity lost, away from God, suffering the torments of the damned! Thank God, this question is asked and answered in the Word of God so simply that every soul can understand it. There are other questions in God's Word which affect the soul's welfare, and many places in the Bible is the plan of salvation made plain, but only one place is this question given word for word, and there, too, we find the answer.

Paul and Silas were in jail in the city of Philippi and at midnight they sang and prayed until God broke down all the doors and broke the stocks which held their feet, with a mighty earthquake. The poor jailer, frightened and convicted of his sins, came to these two preachers and asked this question. Read it in Acts 16:29-31:

"Then he called for a light and sprang in, and came trembling, and fell down before Paul and Silas, And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house."

"What must I do to be saved?" "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved"! There is God's plan of salvation, the only plan He has for every man, woman and child who was ever born into the whole world.

====WHAT MUST I DO?====

Sinner, there is something you must do if you would be saved. There was hope for this jailer because he saw himself a lost sinner and came trembling to inquire, "What must I do?" Reader, you are a sinner. The Word of God from beginning to end emphasizes that fact. In Isaiah 53:6 we learn:

"ALL we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned EVERY ONE to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us ALL."

We have all gone astray! The Lord is not content for sinners to be left believing themselves good. In Romans the third chapter, how positive, how certain is the Word of God that every man, woman and child is a sinner!

"What then? are we better than they? No, in no wise: for we have before proved both Jews and Gentiles, that they are ALL under sin; As it is written, There is NONE righteous, NO, NOT ONE: There is NONE that understandeth, there is NONE that seeketh after God. They are ALL gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is NONE that doeth good, NO, NOT ONE"!--Rom. 3:9-12.

In verses 22 and 23 it is stated again that "there is no difference: for all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God." That is the reason Jesus said to Nicodemus in the third chapter of John, "Marvel not that I said unto thee, YE MUST BE BORN AGAIN." And a little later in the same chapter, verse 18, He said that the man who has not believed in Jesus is already condemned.

Certainly these Scriptures must make it clear to every man who believes the Word of God that he is a sinner, and until he has believed in Christ and has been saved, he is a lost sinner and needs saving. The heart is wrong, and only God can make that right. Then if you want to be saved, you must admit in your own heart, "I am a sinner. I am lost and need to be saved." No one ever was saved without coming for salvation as a sinner.

'''CHRIST DIED TO SAVE SINNERS, NOT GOOD MEN'''

Oh, I beg you, see it today! You are a poor, lost sinner, a Hell-bound sinner! Your heart is black. You have hardened your heart, you have resisted the call of God, you have rejected Christ. However good you are in man's sight, you are a terrible sinner, and unless you turn to Christ you must spend eternity in Hell. A SINNER! That is what you are. Admit it in your own heart, confess it to God. You are a sinner and you need saving worse than you need anything else in the world.

If you have settled in your heart that matter, then you are ready to learn God's answer to your question, "What must I do to be saved?"

====BELIEVE ON THE LORD JESUS CHRIST====

Here is God's simple way to be saved. You are a sinner, your heart is wrong, you cannot save yourself, you are already condemned. The thing you are to do then, to be saved, is to simply trust the Lord Jesus with that matter. When you do trust Him, then you have God's promise, "Thou shalt be saved."

I do not mean that you are simply to believe that there is a God or that there is a Saviour. Devils believe that and tremble (James 2:19). You can believe that a certain physician is a good doctor without calling him to be your doctor when you are sick. You can believe that a certain man is a good lawyer without taking him as your lawyer to defend your case. You are not just to believe the truth about Jesus; you are to believe on Him, that is, depend upon Him, risk Him, trust Him; and when you do, you are saved.

====NOT SAVED BY GOOD WORKS====

Of course, you do not deserve salvation. There is nothing you can do that will make you worthy of it. You cannot be saved by keeping the Ten Commandments, for the Scripture clearly shows that you have not kept them. Romans 3:20 says:

"Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his own sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin."

The same thing is told in Galatians 3:11 which says:

"But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith."

Many, many Scriptures repeat again and again that there is no salvation through human goodness.

"Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost."--Titus 3:5.

"FOR BY GRACE ARE YE SAVED THROUGH FAITH; AND THAT NOT OF YOURSELVES; IT IS THE GIFT OF

GOD: NOT OF WORKS, LEST ANY MAN SHOULD BOAST."--Eph. 2:8, 9.

We had as well admit, then, that no man deserves saving and no man can save himself. Salvation must be free or the sinner could never get it. In fact, it takes blood to pay for sin, for the Scripture says:

"Without Shedding of Blood Is No Remission"--Hebrews 9:22

"For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly."--Rom. 5:6.

"All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all."--Isa. 53:6.

Peter tells us that all of us are bought by the blood of Christ:

"Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot."--1 Peter 1:18, 19.

Every lamb, bullock, heifer, goat, turtle dove and pigeon offered in the Old Testament times on the altar pictured this: that man, a guilty sinner, must have some innocent one to shed his blood to pay for one man's sins. Jesus died for our sins, and, thank God, salvation is bought for every man in the world, if he will have it, as the free gift of God.

"For the wages of sin is death; but the GIFT of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."--Rom. 6:23.

Dear sinner, remember that church membership will not save you. If you have been baptized that cannot save you. Baptism does not save, does not keep anybody saved. It is only an act of duty for those who have already found Christ as their Saviour. A moral life or lodge membership or good citizenship--these must all fail to bring salvation, for it is "not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us" (Titus 3:5). Don't depend, then, on what you do, but on what Jesus did and promises to do for you.

====WHAT ABOUT REPENTANCE?====

Does not the Bible say that we must repent? Yes, the Bible plainly says that "God ... commandeth all men every where to repent" (Acts 17:30), and again, "Except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish" (Luke 13:3, 5). This was the preaching of John the Baptist, of Jesus, of Peter and of Paul, that men should repent. And certainly repentance is God's plan of salvation. The trouble here, however, is that men misunderstand what repentance means, and there has grown up an idea that repentance means a period of weeping and mourning over sin, or sorrow for sins. ... So the place of inquiry, where people should be taught the plan of salvation from the Bible, in revival meetings, became "the mourner's bench" and thousands of people have been taught that God would not hear their prayer nor forgive their sins until they went through a process of sorrow and mourning over their sins!

Do not misunderstand me. God is anxious for you to have a penitent, broken heart over your sins. You have gone away from God. You have trampled under foot the blood of Jesus Christ, wasted years of your life which you can never live over again. You have served your father, the Devil. There is plenty for you to weep over, and I am not surprised if you feel deep shame and sorrow in your heart that you have so mistreated the God who made you and the Saviour who died for you. I am not surprised if you cannot keep back the tears! But what I want you to know is that tears or no tears, however much sorrow you may have in your heart, or not have, those things do not save you.

You ought to be sorry for your sins and ashamed of them. "Godly sorrow worketh repentance" (2 Corinthians 7:10)--the right kind of sorrow leads to immediate repentance, but mourning is not itself repentance.

"Could my tears forever flow, Could my zeal no respite know, These for sin cold not atone; Thou must save, and Thou alone."

To repent literally means to have a change of mind or spirit toward God and toward sin. It means to turn from your sins, earnestly, with all your heart, and trust in Jesus Christ to save you. You can see, then, how the man who believes in Christ repents and the man who repents believes in Christ. The jailer repented when he turned form sin to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ.

====INSTANT SALVATION!====

The jailer did not go through a period of mourning. He was told to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ; he did just that and was saved, and his whole family was saved the same way, immediately, the same hour of the night. Everywhere you look through the New Testament you find that people were saved all at once without any process, without any period of mourning.

Zacchaeus, up a tree, trusted Jesus and made haste and came down, and received Him joyfully (Luke 19:6-9). Jesus said,

"This day is salvation come to this house." When Peter told Cornelius and his assembled household that they could be saved

by believing, immediately "while Peter yet spake these words," the Scripture says, the Holy Spirit came on them and they were happily saved (Acts 10:44-48). The thief on the cross, wicked sinner that he was, who a few minutes before had been railing at Jesus, was saved immediately when he inquired of Jesus (Luke 23:42, 43). In the first chapter of John, verses 35 to 49, we see where Andrew, Simon Peter, Philip and Nathanael were all converted, one by one, immediately by faith in Christ. There is no record of any person in Bible times who was ever told to wait, or mourn, or weep over his sins before trusting Jesus and being saved! One who believes in Christ has repented. Repentance and faith are the same thing put in different words, and neither requires a long period of time, nor a process of mourning and sorrow.

Salvation is instantaneous. All that keeps you today from being saved is the wickedness of your heart that holds on to sin and will not run to Jesus to trust in Him for salvation. I beg you, turn in shame and sorrow from your sins this minute, and trust in Christ and be saved!

====CAN ONE BE SAVED WITHOUT PRAYER?====

In the Bible there are many cases of sinners who prayed like the thief on the cross or the publican in the temple. In fact, Romans 10:13 says:

"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."

Many people believe that a sinner cannot be saved without a period of prayer, without consciously calling on God. However, the Bible does not say that a sinner must pray in order to be saved. In fact, immediately following the verse in Romans 10:13 is an explanation which shows that calling on God is an evidence of faith in the heart and that it is really faith which settles the matter. Read it again.

"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed?"--Rom. 10:13, 14.

The Lord encourages the sinner to pray, and the Lord hears and answers the sinner's prayer, if that sinner trusts in Jesus Christ for salvation when he prays. He heard the prayer of the thief on the cross, of the publican in the temple, of blind Bartimaeus. But the Scripture says, "How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed?" Certainly every one who is to be saved must believe. Prayer is evidence of faith. No matter how long one prays, if he does not trust in Christ, he can never be saved. If he trusts in Christ without conscious prayer, then he is saved already. There is just one plan of salvation and just one step a sinner must take to secure it. That step is to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ!

Some way we preachers have left the impression on this poor world of sinners that God is hardhearted and that it takes many tears and loud cries and long periods of sorrow before He will hear and save the sinner. We have left the impression that God does not care whether sinners are saved or not, and that sinners must some way touch the heart of God and get Him ready to forgive. What a slander on a good and holy God who "so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that WHOSOEVER BELIEVETH in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Man's sins are already paid for, God's wrath is already turned away from any sinner who wants to be saved. Both the Father and the Son are a million times more anxious to save every sinner than the sinner can be to get saved! Thank God, I do not have to beg God to forgive my sins. He will do it the minute I am willing to trust it with Him.

====HOW TO GET THE CHANGE OF HEART====

This simple way of being saved by faith seems so easy, and it is. Some sinner may say, "But I thought one must have a change of heart." So you must, dear sinner, but that is God's part. Jesus was talking to Nicodemus when He said, "Ye must be born again," and in the same chapter He tells Nicodemus how to get the new birth.

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."--John 3:16.

The change in your heart, sinner, is God's part and you may be sure He will attend to that. Your part is to simply believe in Him. Whatever else is necessary in your eternal salvation, the Lord attends to when you trust in Him, or believe in Him.

====HOW SHOULD I FEEL?====

Some people have an idea that the change of heart is a matter of feeling. Some do not want to claim Christ as Saviour until they have the mysterious feeling that they want. Do not let the Devil deceive you here. I believe in heartfelt religion, and thank God for the joy which He gives to me day by day. But the Bible nowhere tells how one must feel before he is saved, nor does it anywhere say how you feel after you are saved. In fact, people do not feel the same. Feeling varies with the person saved.

Some cry when they are saved, some laugh, and a few shout aloud the praises of God. One is no more saved than the other.

What you want, dear sinner, is salvation, and you should be satisfied to feel any way that will please the Lord, just so He forgives your sins.

Be sure you notice another fact, too, and that is that you cannot feel right until you get right. Rejoicing does not come before you trust the Lord. One does not feel the result of medicine before he takes it. The Children of Israel in the wilderness, bitten by fiery serpents and at the point of death, were not healed and did not feel healed until they looked to the brass serpent on the pole (Num. 21:6-9). People are not saved by feeling; they are saved by trusting in Christ. The prodigal son, away from home in the hog pen, decided to arise and go to his father, but he did not feel good. He was without shoes, clothed in rags, without the ring of sonship, without any evidence of his father's forgiveness, perishing with hunger! Yet he arose and came to his father, not by feeling, but by faith in his father. Thank God, his father received him, like God receives every sinner who will come. And when the prodigal boy sat down at his father's table, with shoes of the gospel of peace, clothed in the garments of righteousness of Christ, with the ring of sonship on his finger, eating the fatted calf at the right hand of the father, happy in his love, then he has plenty of feeling. Feeling comes after salvation. Leave the feeling with the Lord and come to the Saviour by faith today.

After you are saved, you will get peace and joy out of following the Lord in baptism, reading His Word, winning souls and otherwise pleasing Him. You need to go to the Lord again and again day by day for the joy of a Christian life. But thank God that salvation is settled once and for all when you simply depend upon Christ as your Saviour.

====WHAT ABOUT PUBLIC CONFESSION?====

Every person who is saved ought to publicly confess Christ. Matthew 10:32 and Romans 10:9 plainly teach that God will claim as His child any of us who will claim Christ as our Saviour, but we simply confess with the mouth what we have already trusted in our hearts. Concerning that very matter Romans 10:10 says:

"For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."

To claim Christ as your Saviour simply proves that you trust Him in the heart. Likewise with all other promises in the Bible about how to be saved. "Him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out," says John 6:37; and salvation is promised in John 1:12 to as many as receive Jesus. But you could not come to Christ without trusting Him, and John 1:12 shows that receiving Jesus is the same as believing on His name.

Dear sinner, do not make this a difficult matter. There is one simple step between you and Jesus. When you trust Him, everything else is settled, and you have repented, you have come to Christ, you have received Him, you have done everything necessary to be saved. Take the answer in Acts 16:31 at face value: "BELIEVE ON THE LORD JESUS CHRIST, AND THOU SHALT BE SAVED"! In dozens of Scriptures all through the Bible salvation is promised to those that believe. Read carefully the following Scriptures and see that again and again, many, many times, God has promised all any poor sinner would ever need when he believes on the Lord Jesus Christ.

"But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that BELIEVE on his name."--John 1:12.

"And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: That whosoever BELIEVETH in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever BELIEVETH in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."--John 3:14-16.

"He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that BELIEVETH not is condemned already, because he hath not BELIEVED in the name of the only begotten Son of God."--John 3:18.

"He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that BELIEVETH not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him."--John 3:36.

"Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and BELIEVETH on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life."--John 5:24.

"And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and BELIEVETH on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day."--John 6:40.

"Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that BELIEVETH on me hath everlasting life."--John 6:47.

"To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever BELIEVETH in him shall receive remission of sins."--Acts 10:43.

"And by him all that BELIEVE are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses."--Acts 13:39.

Read again the Scripture we started with:

"What must I do to be saved?"

"BELIEVE on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved."--Acts 16:30, 31.

Trust Jesus, the Great Physician

If you were sick and about to die, and there was some good doctor whom you could trust, would you not risk him to take your case, give you the necessary treatment, and with God's help get you well? Then just like that, trust in Christ, depend on Him for your salvation, and turn it over to Him today. With the same kind of faith that will call in a doctor and risk him for your body, you can call in the Lord Jesus Christ and risk Him to forgive your sins and save your poor lost soul! He said, "They that are whole need not a physician, but they that are sick" (Luke 5:31). He is the Great Physician and will heal your soul instantly if you will trust Him. As you would trust a doctor, submit to his treatment, depend on him for results, so trust Jesus today about your soul. To be sure, human doctors fail many times. Their results at best are gradual, and so no doctor is a perfect picture of Jesus. The doctor can work no miracles, but Jesus can, and the change that is needed in that poor, wicked heart, He will make immediately, instantly, without any further effort on your part, when you trust Him!

====JESUS IS OUR LAWYER====

If you had committed a crime and were thrown in jail, probably the first thing you would do would be to send for some lawyer in whom you had confidence and trust him with the entire matter of your defense. In God's sight you are a criminal, condemned already and with the wrath of God upon you day by day. But God has provided somebody to take the part of us poor sinners, criminals before the bar of God's justice, and Jesus is that lawyer, for the Scripture says:

"If any man sin, we have an advocate [or lawyer] with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for our's only, but also for the sins of the whole world."--1 John 2:1, 2.

Jesus will not only be your lawyer to defend your case; He has already paid the penalty and you may safely trust Him to have you immediately pardoned and justified! Why not simply risk Jesus as you would risk a good lawyer? Jesus is better than any lawyer, of course, and you do not have to pay Him a fee, and He never fails.

====A WEDDING====

A young man and young woman stand together, side by side, before the preacher. The preacher says, "You will join right hands." Then to the young man he says, "Do you take this young woman to be your lawfully wedded wife, to love her and cherish her until death do you part?" He answers, "I do." To the young woman the preacher says: "Do you take this man to be your lawfully wedded husband until death do you part?" She answers, "I do." Then the preacher says: "I pronounce you man and wife," and they are married in the sight of God and man.

What a simple picture of salvation! Jesus is the bridegroom and we who trust Him are to be His bride. Already Jesus has loved you and has long urged you to accept His love. Jesus invites you to accept His love. Jesus invites you to believe in Him right now and be saved and so become a part of His bride. Will you not right now with the same simple faith of that young woman who takes a husband, accept Jesus as your Saviour and say to Him, "I do."?

====MAKE IT SURE--CLAIM HIM TODAY!====

The way is plain and you can be saved this moment if you will.

Surely it has become plain, dear lost sinner, that it is your own fault if you are lost! Do you hate Jesus Christ? Will you hold on to your sin and go to Hell for your stubbornness? Nothing in the world could show your wickedness like postponing this matter. You can be saved right now, this minute. I beg you, do it now. Turn your whole heart from sin to trust in Christ. Choose for Heaven against Hell, choose for Christ against Satan. Do not let Satan deceive you any longer. If you delay, it may result in a hardened heart, a wasted life and a tortured soul in Hell! And if you are not saved, when God has made the way so plain and paid the price for your sins, then you have no one to blame but yourself. Will you trust Jesus Christ today and be saved?

"Boast not thyself of tomorrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth."--Proverb 27:1.

"Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation."--2 Corinthians 6:2.

"Today if ye will hear his voice, Harden not your hearts."--Heb. 3:7, 8.

God has given you this heartbeat, this breath, this moment in order to trust Christ, but there is no promise of another. I beg you do it right now, and then claim Him as your Saviour.

One who trusts Jesus Christ as personal Saviour should publicly claim Him before men. "For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation" (Romans 10:10).

After trusting Jesus Christ you should join a church and be baptized. I hope you will find a good Bible-believing church and attend faithfully.

Happy Saint Patrick's Day.

Saint Patrick's Day is about the evangelization of Ireland. It's a God-centered holiday, made a mockery of by even more sin, by satan.

Gospel for Asia, Revolution, K. P. Yohannan, writes;
03.14.06 (3:58 am)   [edit]

[Picture of 100 year old lady]

With tears streaming down her wrinkled face, the 100-year-old woman watched heartbroken, as flames consumed the funeral pyre holding the body of the last and dearest of her friends.

A few months later, as the only one left of her generation, she saw the first team of native missionaries reach her remote village.

That night she eagerly sat among the other villagers to watch a film of the life of Jesus and to listen with astonishment to a simple Gosple message. For the very first time she and the other villagers heard that through Jesus their sins could be forgiven.

Overwhelmed with the wonderful news about the Savior and His love for her, the old woman joyfully received Jesus. But thrugh her tears of joy, she was gripped with the one question: "Why has no one come sooner with this message? If only my friends and family could have heard the Gospel at least once before they died, they might not have been lost forever."

OH man, what lies...
03.06.06 (9:10 am)   [edit]

The natural language of the offspring of satan is lies. Jesus always made that clear (John 8, V. 34), and I was reading a magazine today.

Now, if you know the truth, you can reveal a lie by it. By knowing the truth, what isn't the truth and poses as the truth is a lie, safe to say? If I murder someone, and there are 3 different stories floating around about how I murdered them, one of them saying it was an accident and I didn't do it, but I know I'm guilty and I've murdered somebody: There's only one truth of how I actually did it. I didn't live out the same timeline 3 times and did it 3 different ways. Get what I mean?

 So this magazine says:

"...[the bible] also teaches that the 'rest of the dead...small and great' also are to be resurrected from the grave. Who are they? These are the majority of humankind, all those who have ever lived and died over thousands of years of human history never knowing God's truth. They are to stand before God, and for the first time in their lives, have the full truth of Scriptures opened to their understanding."

It then goes on to say how it will be the "...first time their eyes will be truly opened to God's wonderful plan..."

Then the biggest lie: "Most will then willingly reject their sinful ways, committed mostly in ignorance when they knew little or nothing of God and His ways. If they sincerely acknowledge their errors and repent, then they also may be glorified and receive eternal life."

Oh, what a lie! I mean...so evil. It cites Revelations 20, Verses 4-6 and 11-12 for such knowledge. Lets go to the truth, and learn what will ACTUALLY happen!

"And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works."

So, the truth is, despite what lies are saying, the dead will appear to be JUDGED. It's not a meeting with God to see if you'll finally accept Him. No. If God came down with all of His glory, no one would dare say a thing against Him. They'd bust their jaws on the ground in repentance and humility. No matter how wicked they are. Remember the parable of the wheat and tare? Matthew Chapter 13. The householder, Jesus, said, let them both grow together lest while you pluck up the tare (those who are going to hell) you pluck up also the wheat (those receiving eternal life in the kingdom of heaven). He wants to be sure. For a better judgement. He's not trying to get a decision of them. He's trying to get His children back, the ones with true devotion in their hearts that will do what He says. He doesn't allow sin into His kingdom!

It's judgement day! Not decision day. You don't get to speak. You're pronounced guilty, and all of your sins line up as witnesses. You've sinned against a just and holy God, and you're going to face the punishment. And God isn't going to relent: He's the judge! And by His own goodness, and His own throne, He has to see that justice is given. To those that love Him, and to those that sin against Him. What are in the books? It clearly says, their works! They're judged according to their works! Past tense! They already did them. It's not a meeting - you've already made up your mind and your decision. You're going to how you chose to live: in sin. The place for sin is in the furnace. Every tree that doesn't produce good fruit, the tree isn't good. It's cut down. And charred. Those that are ignorant of the law, and don't have the law are a law to themselves and are judged by their own conscience (Romans Chapter 2, Verse 15). You walk up to someone, and ask them if it's wrong to lie, or to murder. And they'll have something to say. Every world culture, person, no matter who they are, are moral. They have a sense of right and wrong. And they're going to face the judgement. Using the old English word: Woe to him who's name isn't written in the Book of Life come judgement day. Who jumps without the parachute of the Holy Spirit sent from God. Who denies the truth.
The magazine's called "Good News." When their works are tested by the flame, and I'm going to be tested under the same, and if their works are found lies, they're going to be burnt up like wood, hay, or stubble (First Corinthians 3, Verse 12, 13).

I can't wait! Judgement day is like payday to those that are (James Chapter 1, Verse 12) in the will of God.

My First Love
03.01.06 (1:49 pm)   [edit]

When I first got saved, I had a burning passion for figuring out what the Lord wanted me to know. I was so passionate, I spent more than 4 hours daily searching the scriptures. I read and read, and read. I memorized key scriptures, and was fascinated about pieces of knowledge that people had forgotten or didn't understand outside of church life, or because they had preconceptions of what was in scripture.

I had none - no truly deep church background where I'd hear the Word preached every week of my life. My parents were Rastafarians. But I'd gained knowledge, and I was excited to pray to the Spirit to reveal and open parts of understanding for me. I loved it. I remember choosing the Word of God over television and food and all sorts of things. After I graduated from high school, the Lord taught me even more knowledge. I went to work at a company up in Clearwater called Special Data Processing as a telesalesman. I'd take two different buses for an hour to get there, and I dreaded it because I'd get yelled at all day, and had to repeat the same script over and over, a thousand times a day.

Here I used the time between calls and away from the phones to study God's Word. I studied furiously, and brought my bible in my backpack and studied on the bus. I would use a pencil to mark a dot on the outer edges of the bible where I had stopped when the call came through. My burning zeal for the things of God and enthusiasm over the knowledges and insights I had gained wouldn't sit still. The co-workers I would work alongside of as teammates would ask me about it, and I wouldn't hesitate to expound and open every nook and cranny of the mysterious of God. I would tell them every detail of what was in Isaiah and Jeremiah. And the weird angelic descriptions in Ezekiel. And about the first age of earth, and all of the ages, and about how Jesus came and not only that, but His prophetic 700 year announcement before His arrival. I'd astound and dumbfound some, and provoke others to questions through the Word.

I remember a gentleman with a very long and twisty beard that was the team's comedian telling me that heaven and earth and hell were a state of mind. And that when he feels good, it's heaven. I, with my zeal with what I thought was the right knowledge, would tell him that heaven was a literal kingdom, and never anywhere in scripture would you find anything that has to do with it being a state of mind. Then go back into the kingdom of God and how it's different from the kingdom of Heaven, that one is here by the Spirit and the other is a literal kingdom. And he still wouldn't believe me.

The others braved up and approached me with their pieces of knowledge. Like a swordsman, I can remember one by one cutting them up and running lines and ropes through scripture and always going back to what they didn't know about because church hadn't taught it to them: the first age of earth.

As I look back on that, it was my first love. I can remember them saying, "Watch out, now. He's a wise man..." And then I can remember tossing that aside as satan trying to tempt me into more pride.

What was wrong with me? Well, a number of things. I definately had a lot of knowledge, and no loss of zeal. But what I didn't figure out was that by telling them, and by what I was saying, I wasn't saving anyone. No one was saved by telling them about the awesome things the Spirit was teaching me personally, someone amazed by Christ. Why weren't they? The natural man receives not the things of God, for they are foolishness to him. Neither can he know them because they're spiritually understood. It's First Corinthians Chapter 2, Verse 14, the teaching of Jesus Christ Himself, the Lord of all things. I believed God. I trusted in Him. And I wanted them to be saved and to have the same burning zeal for Christ. But if I tell them something spiritual, they're not going to understand it unless the Lord has specifically prepared them to receive it by the Spirit. I never told them that they had sinned personally against a Holy and just God. Never once did I open the law and show them where and how. They weren't fearful of the wrath to come because I never told them that there was wrath to come. I never said that unless you repent, Jesus says, you'll never see the kingdom of God. That you must be born again. Oh, I think I said that.

But why should they be born again? Because there was an age of earth before Adam and Eve? Because there are some amazing things in scripture that they're missing out on? There was no right motivation. I was an alien among the ones that would argue with me: the Spirit of God was upon me, and I was convinced a transgressor of God and fully ready to believe and accept the truth, turning my back on sin. But there was no seed-sowing: everyone I've ever approached to share the Gospel already knew that Christ died on the cross for their sins. They had already known about Jesus. Yet they weren't saved. And yet the Spirit of God wasn't in them. They had no zeal to hear the Spirit on God's amazing things. Because the Spirit of God wasn't in them! There was no revealing of truth because the reveal-er wasn't there <i>within</i> them. They needed to receive the Spirit of God before I could call them brothers and sisters, and though I can't remember if I did or not, I may have told them that they were forgiven before they knew what they had to be forgiven from. Why did Jesus die on the cross? It wasn't to show you some amazing stuff. It shows you God's mercy and love, but the reason why Christ died was to make you righteous and holy before God. Because no one can enter into the kingdom of heaven without God's own righteousness. It was to send the Spirit and destroy the power of death, sin, in you once and for all, so you'd no longer be a transgressor of the law. THEN you could see that you're forgiven, that God has so much mercy and compassion. That's God's love - Jesus.

That's my first love. There's righteousness in love. I can't say, "I love you, but when I find someone else, we're done." Love is patient, love is kind. These are what describe Jesus. And when you're baptized in the Spirit, you're baptized in a holy God who died to save the lives of His friends by His own death. And He only had 1 life to give for you. I can't walk around dying for my friends. There's only 1 life. And one death to that life. By the Spirit I love the things of God. If I didn't have God's love inside of me working in me I wouldn't have opened that bible. Without the Spirit I wouldn't have been motivated to do anything for the Lord and would have died in my sins on the Howard Franklin a long time ago.
